Lease in Peace: A Renter’s Toolkit
Are you a renter? Are you ever uncertain what your rights and responsibilities are? Do you ever struggle with communicating productively with your landlord? Are you unsure of what resources are available for you?
Anyone who answered yes to any of these questions is invited to attend the following events:
Event 1 : On Wednesday, March 19 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Room 203 Olscamp Hall on the campus of BGSU. This event is hosted by the Undergraduate Student Government and co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Senate at BGSU, in partnership with BG SONG (Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group) and PEBG (People of Engagement Bowling Green). There will be presentations on effective communication with landlords and resources for renters, as well as plenty of discussion about issues renters have experienced and ideas for how renters, landlords, and organizations can work together to make Bowling Green a great place to rent. The Lease in Peace event is free to attend. Pizza, beverages, and homemade cookies will be provided.
Event 2 : On Wednesday, April 2, at the free Community Meal hosted by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 South College Drive, on April 2. The presentation will begin at 5:00pm.
Who is PEBG?
PEBG is an organization whose purpose is to support tenants and landlords to ensure safe housing in Bowling Green. It believes in empowering people with information when they are making important decisions about selecting and renting a place to live.
