COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION FORUM SUCCESS AND CONTINUED EFFORT
Our October 12 Call to Action meeting was a success by all measures. The meeting was designed to identify actionable items that the community is passionate about.
Our facilitators were successful in leading those who attended through a unique consensus-building process to identify four action items. The sixty-nine meeting participants reached a consensus on these next steps for improving our community:
Revitalization of existing properties
Public transit feasibility study
A sustainability and resiliency task force to prepare for climate change
An exploration of new within-the-city housing options
Forty-three meeting participants signed up to work on one or more action teams. Any community member is welcome to join a team to support progress on one of the four goals.
The Call to Action teams which formed out of our October 12 meeting are getting together on a regular basis. The teams are:
New Housing Action Team
Housing Revitalization Team
Transportation and Mobility Action Team
CAN (Climate Action Network) Team
To be notified of meeting times and locations, email bowlinggreensong@gmail.com with the name of the action team in the subject line.
Interested in joining a team? Send an email to bowlinggreensong@gmail.com with "Action Team" in the subject line to support progress on one of these four goals.
